Animating Garfield in Blender

This is my first blender test, and I really love the interface and comfortability. I have made my decision to switch to blender from Toon Boom Harmony. when it comes to 2D blender got some handy tools and all free on board. and VR is also there I have seen some great 2D VR arts done by Great Goro Fujita. Also learning 3D but switching from Maya is not an easy task.

Hare Animation test 2D

Animation was done with Hare Rig by Aman Musovic. you can find it on CG meetup. I wanted to do some walk & Run tests before jump into a acting performance. The exaggerated run was heavily inspired by a GIF image that I have seen in the internet.

We did this project for 70th Anniversary of our Independence day. Video is about series of event happened or changed entire political backgrounds since 1948 Feb 04th. Pali (Animater/Comp), Mithun (Animator/Foley) & my self produced this 2D animated short.

Finally, I left Studio 101 after completing all the animations regarding Gajaman, DP & Magodis. The best job & the coolest place to work in Sri Lanka. I'm glad I had all these wonderful opportunities & awesome memories at this little age.

Now I have the confidence to start my own thing. So there we go Grease Pencil... My 1st company founded with my fellow artist together.

Rotoscope Animation

This animation was specially made for a corporate AV came through Sunspark production house.

Took about 3 days to complete the animation. all frames was hand drawn & rotoscoped inside ToonBoom Harmony.

Bat Walk on 3's

This Choppy Walk cycle is made under 3rd's, which means it'll holds a drawing for at least 3 frames. Still I can't draw clean lines when it comes to the perfection.

Cartoon for a LED Commercial

This commercial was made for a local LED bulb selling company called Green Electric. It took about a week to complete this project. All frames were hand drawn in ToonBoom Harmony.

This was the first commercial project that I animated in 2D, I took full responsibility for the entire Animation process in this production. The whole scene was animated in The Toonboom Harmony. Cartoon Run

Cartoon run test in toon boom for the first time. actually it's the best known 2d animation software in handy. Took some serious reference & timings from Jason Ryan's Animation tutorials.   

Weight Push Pencil Test

Hand Drawn animation test done in Digicel Flipbook & Adobe Flash. Took a long time to finish this one, Actually this was started as some thumbnail drawings for a 3D weight push animation but it went all straight ahead.

Storyboard for an Animated Short

This is our Story board for the upcoming Animated short called 'Cowboy & The Sheriff. Whole Animatic was done by My self & Mithun Ram (Classmate).
